  Rachels Bakery is a great place to be when one visits Fire Island. Wither you know about the Bakery or not, once you walk past the Bakery, you'll amost automatically smell the fresh baked goods of Stroodle Sticks, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Iced Coffee, and of course, Rachels Famous Cakes! I for one love this place and i tend to visit it every summer. Actually, i work there, which is an even luckier expirence for me. The owner of Rachels Bakery and Resturant is obvisouly Rachel Doering. Rachel is my second grandmother you could say and she is a great person to be with. And not for nothing but, she is the one who created all of her famous recipies for the Bakery. I myself behind the counter, get to expirence all of the action from refilling the Iced Coffee containers and putting out more cookies in the window on display. However, its not all fun and games as one would think when working there. (Not ot Brag But) Its hard work to make, serve, and refill what needs to be done. However, with the help of Rachel, the job gets done. I also get to encounter many new and old faces of customers as i work in the bakery. Some of which include the Police Men of Fire Island, and others who justy come in daily for a cup of coffee. I love to see the smiling faces of children and their parents as they walk in. Most people come in and either order a crumb cake or just get a good wiff of the air and say in joy "Wow, i need to get this" or "How do you work behind the Counter and not be tempeted to eat all of that?!" ....Literally. People also confrintate about the prices in the Bakery.From that statement, I have to say that the Bakery prices are a little bit pricey, however, its definitally all worth it. Anyway, after getting off track, i have to say that my first year workin at the Bakery has been a great one. The Bakery in general is a great place to be as well. And i will be returning shortly to work there again in the summer. (Yes!) Filled with Friends, Family, and the delicious smell of a newly baked Crumb Cake. (Wow, im gettting hungry just typing this) In Conclusion, the Bakery is a "must go to to eat the crumb cake and other delicious goods" place to be, and if by chance your stopping by at Fire Island Ocean Beach, you should definitally check it out. =]
